X-Men: Apocalypse director Bryan Singer has confirmed that a X-Force film is in development.

The 50-year-old filmmaker also hinted at pitching an idea with X-23, a female version of Wolverine, reported Aceshowbiz.

“I have discussed that with the studio (20th Century Fox). I actually initially pitched the X-Force and the female,” Signer said.

He also revealed that producer Simon Kinberg was “in the earliest script stage” of the X-Force project.

The X-Force movie is a long-gestating project first confirmed by comic book creator Rob Liefeld in 2014. With the success of Deadpool and the upcoming X-Men: The New Mutants on the horizon, Fox is looking for new ways in which they can keep the series alive.
