Assembly polls 2023 highlights: After the polling was concluded in 119-seat Telangana assembly on Thursday, the exit polls for all the five states which went to the polls namely Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Mizoram and Telangana were out yesterday predicting a mixed bag for the BJP and Congress. An aggregate of exit polls predicted that the saffron party is likely to retain power in Madhya Pradesh and may form the government in Rajasthan. Most exit polls predicted an edge to the Congress in Chhattisgarh and Telangana. Telangana exit polls: India Today-Axis My India gives clear majority to Congress

Congress is poised to form its first government in Telangana, according to India Today-Axis My India exit poll which released its outcome for the state on Friday, a day after the southern state went to the polls.

According to India Today-Axis My India exit poll, Congress is expected to win 63-73 seats in Congress and BRS 34-44 seats. It said the BJP is likely to get 4 to 8 seats and others 5 to 8 seats.

The poll predicted Congress vote share rising to 42 per cent, that of BRS sliding to 36 per cent and BJP getting 14 per cent vote share. It predicted that AIMIM will get 3 per cent votes and others 5 per cent.

Mizoram assembly polls: Counting of votes deferred by a day to Monday

The counting of votes in Mizoram will take place on December 4, a day after it was originally scheduled, the Election Commission said on Friday.

It said the decision was taken following representations from various quarters requesting for a change in the date of counting from December 3 on the ground that Sunday holds a special significance for the people of Mizoram, a Christian-majority state.

J&K: BJP holds meetings to discuss booth-level outreach programme, poll strategy

The Jammu and Kashmir unit of the BJP on Friday held meetings of its top leaders here, discussed the strategy for the forthcoming parliamentary elections and reviewed a booth-level outreach programme.

The meetings were chaired by the BJP national general secretary (organisation) B L Santhosh and the party in-charge of J&K Tarun Chugh.

In the first meeting, the senior leadership reviewed the 'Booth Jan Samvad Abhiyan' with youth groups involved in the ongoing outreach programme, leaders said.

JP Nadda visits Gwalior ahead of counting of votes

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President JP Nadda visited Gwalior on Friday ahead of the counting of votes for Madhya Pradesh assembly polls on Sunday.

Nadda was welcomed by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, state Home Minister Narottam Mishra, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and others at Gwalior airport on the occasion.
