In a major accident on Satara-Mumbai highway, a speeding car plunged into the Katraj ghat on Saturday afternoon. Fortunately, both the occupants of the car are alive, police said.

The car was on its way to Pune from Jambhulwadi, when the car driver lost control of the wheels on the Katraj bridge.
The occupants were saved because the car air bags were activated at the time of the accident which took place at 12:15 pm. The car plunged 150 ft into the ghat. By the time, the police reached the spot, the occupants had reached the top and were taken to the hospital by other commuters. The Bharati Vidyapeeth police said that they have a found a stethoscope inside the car. According to preliminary findings, the occupants could be related to the medical profession.
