Demonetisation is the first step to curb black money and corruption: Narendra Modi

Addressing BJP Parliamentary Party, Narendra Modi attacked Congress and Left parties for opposing the ban on old 500 and 1000 rupees notes, dubbed demonetisation as war against black money.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked the Congress and Left parties on Friday for opposing his government’s move to demonetise Rs 500 and Rs 1000 banknotes, dubbing it as a war against black money.

In an address to the party MPs at parliamentary meeting, Modi said, “we need to move ahead with those supporting us in our fight against corruption.”

•There are many people who are ideologically opposed to NDA and BJP, yet supported the drive against corruption, black money

•Want to thank Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar for their support to demonetisation

•Demonetisation is not the last step in our fight against corruption

•Indira Gandhi rejected suggestions for demonetisation in 1971, that has resulted in poor condition of the economy

•Communist parties have uprooted themselves from their ideology

•The Benami Property Act was passed by the Parliament in 1988 but it remained unimplemented for more than 25 years as it was not notified

•For Congress, party is bigger than nation but for us nation is bigger than a party

•We need to take ahead the fight against corruption and black money

•Government launched some important schemes yesterday, I want you to take them forward

•A time will come when loans will be granted in 6 minutes. This will be possible because of digital technology

•Digital economy should be made way of life

•Government is taking steps in the interest of the nation

•We have taken 23 important decisions for digital promotion
