Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the party's win in 4 states. The Congress leader, while speaking to the media, has linked BJP's victory to Hindutva and polarization. “The BJP won speaking cleverly in the name of Hindutva, polarisation. Everyone knows about the COVID management in the country, in UP,” said Gehlot.

He further added, "Still, the opposition lagged behind as the BJP speaks cleverly. It changed people's minds. I believe truth triumphs in the end."

Earlier on Thursday, Ashok Gehlot had said that the Congress party accepts the mandate of assembly elections that were held in five states. The Rajasthan Chief Minister had tweeted, "Though we expected better results, we accept the mandate of 2022 state elections. Congress leaders and workers have worked very hard. We humbly accept the results and wish all the best to all those who have won the election. I hope those people will fulfill what they have promised."

Congress suffered a massive setback in all the five assembly states. On the other hand, BJP headed for a second straight victory in politically-bound Uttar Pradesh. The party also dominated Uttarakhand, Goa, and Manipur. Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) bagged a landslide victory in Punjab.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing the BJP workers on Friday reiterated that 'Holi begins from March 10'. He congratulated the party workers and said, "Some party workers told me - they will celebrate Holi on March 10. They proved their promise."
