After the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) clarified that the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s talent manager was an accident, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi said the BJP and Ranes – Union minister Narayan Rane, his sons Nilesh and Nitesh – owe an apology to people “they were accusing.”

Salian, who was actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s talent manager, fell to her death from a highrise on June 8, 2020, days before the actor was found dead in his house. Several conspiracy theories around the two deaths started doing rounds, claiming both Salian and Rajput were murdered, and several BJP leaders levelled allegations against Aaditya Thackeray and some other Sena leaders.

Following CBI's clarification, the Shiv Sena (UBT) has intensified its attack against those who alleged Aaditya was connected to Salian’s death, especially Rane.

“A young Mumbai girl, Disha Salian, lost her life in an accident, that was not her parents only loss, BJP& Ranes left no stone unturned to character assassinate & use her name for political gain. Now after CBI report, these shameless vultures owe the people they were accusing an apology,” Chaturvedi tweeted.

The Rajya Sabha member also blasted television news channels for amplifying the conspiracy theories and giving “platforms to such lies and calumny.”

Shiv Sena (UBT) deputy leader and spokesperson Manisha Kayande said “the Ranes must apologise to Aaditya if they have the courage.”

Former Mayor and Shiv Sena deputy leader Vishakha Raut reiterated the sentiment saying Aaditya Thackeray “underwent a lot of mental turmoil due to this."

"I have known him since he was a child and he would never stoop so low as to do all that they accused him of.”
