Residents of two villages in Gujarat’s Kheda risk their lives everyday while using a bridge that collapsed two months ago.
The bridge, that connects Naika and Bherai villages, is also used by children to reach their school.
Locals have been petitioning authorities to rebuild the bridge that is only way for them to commute.
A local told ANI, “If we don’t use this bridge, we will have to travel a distance of 10 km instead of 1 km.”
Kheda district collector IK Patel has said that work on the bridge will resume soon.
“Construction work will be resumed immediately. The work has not begun due to rain,” he said.
