IIT Kanpur denies putting restrictions on students

IIT-K registrar KK Tiwari on Tuesday said the senate had taken several decisions for the welfare of students but students say the ban on outings was akin to moral policing.

Indian Institute of Technology-Kanpur (IIT-K) on Wednesday denied that its senate had banned students from attending late night outings or parties.

“Such a decision was never taken at any stage,” said KK Tiwari, registrar of the institute.
