Noida teen kills father, jumps before metro train hours later: ‘Was depressed over father’s harsh behaviour’
The Sector 49 police station received information through Dial-112 that a boy had jumped in front of metro train at the Sector 52 station.
A 16-year-old boy allegedly killed his father at their rented accommodation in Noida and later died by suicide after jumping in front of a metro train at Sector 52 station, police said on Friday.
The incident took place on Wednesday and came to light in two separate stages. While the teenager's death at the metro station was reported shortly after it happened, his father's body was recovered from their rented room only late Thursday night, news agency PTI reported.
According to the preliminary investigation, the teenager had been staying with his father, who worked as a tutor, at a rented apartment in Garhi Chaukhandi village for around three months.

Police said the teenager was reportedly depressed over his father's alleged harsh behaviour and his mother's absence. The PTI report added that his mother had separated from his father after the Covid-19 pandemic and had been living separately.
"Early Wednesday morning, while his father was asleep, he killed his father. Afterward, he went to the Sector-52 Metro station, where he attempted to take his own life by jumping in front of a train," police said.
After allegedly killing his father, the boy left the rented accommodation and travelled to Sector 52 Metro station.

The Sector 49 police station received information through Dial-112 that a boy had jumped in front of a metro train at the station.

Metro staff and security personnel immediately rushed to the spot and took the teenager to a nearby hospital. However, doctors declared him dead on arrival, police said.
The boy was later identified as a 16-year-old resident of Sector 73 in Noida. Following the inquest proceedings, his body was sent for post-mortem. It was later handed over to his mother and maternal uncle, police said.
At the time, the discovery of his father's death had not yet been made.
The man's body was discovered only after his brother began looking for him.
The brother approached police outposts at Parthala and Garhi Chaukhandi seeking assistance in locating his sibling's rented accommodation. Police subsequently received information about a foul smell coming from a room near Tikona Park in Garhi Chaukhandi.
Late Thursday night, police and the man's brother reached the rented premises and found the father's body inside.
Police are now investigating the circumstances that led to the alleged killing and the teenager's subsequent death.
