The police claimed that the girl had a relationship with one of them and he may have been involved in the kidnapping. She had allegedly eloped with him (her lover) in the past when she was a minor. “Four people are involved in the incident. The girl had eloped with her lover in the past. Now as she has become an adult, he (her lover) might have taken her.,” Nagendra Chary, the deputy superintendent of police (DSP), Vemulawada, told news agency ANI.

The CCTV footage shows a man with a cloth tied to his face dragging the girl towards a car. He pushed her into the rear seat while another man went to her father to stop him from resisting. As soon as the girl was pushed inside the car, the car sped away pushing aside the father who was seen coming to her rescue.

The DSP said three teams have been made to trace them and rescue the girl. They are examining technical evidence.
