Plea on ex-Supreme Court staffer bail to be heard on May 23
The court of chief metropolitan magistrate Manish Khurana adjourned the case pertaining to the cancellation of the woman’s bail until May 23 after it was informed that summons had not been served on the complainant against the woman.
A Delhi court on Wednesday adjourned the hearing on a plea by Delhi Police seeking the cancellation of bail granted to a former Supreme Court woman staffer being probed for alleged cheating and criminal intimidation. The woman had allegedly taken a bribe by promising a Delhi resident a job in the Supreme Court.
The 34-year-old woman has levelled allegations of sexual harassment against Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi.The SC has formed a three-member committee of sitting judges to look into the allegations, Hindustan Times reported on Wednesday.

“The instant application seeking cancellation of bail of the accused has been moved by the Crime Branch on the basis of statement given by the complainant to the concerned DCP, Crime Branch...The complainant was ordered to be summoned by this court but it remained unserved. In the interest of justice, let the complainant be re-summoned,” Khurana said.
DCP is short for Deputy Commissioner of Police.
The woman’s counsel, VK Ohri, moved an application seeking the release of her computer central processing unit, closed circuit television recorder and the mobile phone. The court dismissed the application after the police said they needed the seized equipment for investigations.
Police had filed an application for cancellation of the bail granted to the woman on March 12 after the complainant claimed that he was being threatened by the woman and her associates.
The complainant has alleged that the former Supreme Court employee had cheated him of Rs 50,000 on the pretext of finding him a job in the Supreme Court. He filed a first information report in the case on March 3, she was arrested on March 10 and was released on bail on March 12.
On March 14, the case was taken up by the Crime Branch of Delhi Police and the complainant addressed an application to the DCP that he was being threatened by the woman and her associates.
