PM Modi to launch Smart City projects in Pune on Saturday

Taking a step forward in the direction of integrated urban planning and development in the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch ‘Smart City’ projects at a special function being organised at Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Balewadi, here on Saturday.

Taking a step forward in the direction of integrated urban planning and development in the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch ‘Smart City’ projects at a special function being organised at Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Balewadi, here on Saturday.

The Smart City project comes under an ambitious programme of the NDA government the ‘Smart Cities Mission’.

The Prime Minister will launch 14 projects for Pune, along with 69 for other cities, which will come up with a total investment of about Rs. 1,770 crore.

The 20 selected cities would be linked through videoconferencing.

Today’s launch will also mark the beginning of the implementation of the urban development plans including AMRUT Mission.

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate a ‘Make Your City SMART’ contest and Smart Net Portal will also be launched.
