The Election Commission Monday said over 99 per cent of the total 4,796 electors cast their votes in presidential poll, while 10 states and the Union Territory of Puducherry recorded a turnout of 100 per cent. As per the experts, the numbers seem to be stacked in favour of the NDA presidential candidate Droupadi Murmu, who contested the election against opposition's nominee Yashwant Sinha. Murmu received support from unlikely quarters with parties like Shiv Sena, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha extending their support recently. She had already received support from Biju Janata Dal and YSR Congress Party.
