Karunanidhi is currently undergoing treatment in the hospital since Saturday due to urinary tract infection and age- related ailments.. “I met Karunanidhiji in Intensive Care Unit. We have a long relationship with Karunanidhi and DMK. He is doing well and his health condition is stable,” Rahul said.
“Karunanidhi is tough like the people of Tamil Nadu. Karunanidhi has the spirit of Tamil Nadu. I am happy to say that the leader is stable now.”
The Congress leader was in the hospital for nearly 15 minutes. He was accompanied by the party general secretary Mukul Wasnik and Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president Su Thirunavukkarasar.
“He responded well to the medical management and his vitals have gradually normalised. Although there has been a resolution of condition which lead to his hospital admission, an extended period of hospitalisation will be necessary due to age related overall decline in his general health ...” Dr Aravindan Selvaraj, executive director, Kauvery hospital said in a statement.
