Railway official booked for exchanging demonetised currency

“It is alleged that K.L Bhoyar, while working as Assistant Commercial Manager (Coaching), Central Railway, CST, Mumbai, has exchange the demonetised currency notes worth Rs 8.22 lakh (approx) with new currency notes of Rs 2,000 and legal tender of Rs 100 notes at booking counters at CST, Mumbai and Kalyan,” said Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) spokesperson Devpreet Singh.

According to CBI, it has recovered cash of around Rs.2.2 lakh approx in Rs 100 denomination notes, fixed deposits worth Rs 30 lakh, property documents etc.

“Searches are being conducted in the case,” added Singh.
