SI found dead four days after wife’s suicide

A police sub-inspector was found dead at his in-laws’ home, four days after his wife’s alleged suicide, leaving their two young sons orphaned.

A 36-year-old sub- inspector of police was found dead at his in-laws’ house in Karimnagar district on Saturday, four days after his 32-year-old wife allegedly died by suicide at their home, police said.

According to a police officer in Karimnagar town, the deceased was found hanging in bedroom of his in-laws’ house, where he performed the last rites of his wife on Thursday.

He was immediately rushed to a private hospital, where doctors declared him dead, he added.

“The deaths have left their two sons aged 9 and 6 years, orphaned,” he said, adding that the SI’s in-laws had alleged that he was responsible for her death.

“A case has been registered and further investigations are underway,” said the officer.
