Liberian-flagged crude oil tanker Mt France C with 5 Indian sailors on board struck in Strait of Hormuz

Four Indian-flagged vessels and 35 foreign vessels with Indian sailors on board have been attacked in the West Asia conflict so far.

A projectile reportedly struck a Liberian-flagged crude oil tanker MT FRANCE C with five Indian sailors on board on Saturday after it crossed the Strait of Hormuz while proceeding west-outbound.

Seven Indian vessels are currently in Persian Gulf (West of Strait of Hormuz), with 153 Indian seafarers on board. (AP)

All 5 Indians on board have been confirmed to be safe.

A report by the Directorate of Maritime Administration said that four incidents involving Indian-flagged vessels and 35 incidents involving foreign-flagged vessels with Indian crew were reported during the West Asia conflict so far, including 9 confirmed fatalities, 10 injured and one presumed dead.

Seven Indian vessels are currently in Persian Gulf (West of Strait of Hormuz), with 153 Indian seafarers on board, it said.

A total of 10 vessels of Indian interest, including both Indian-flagged and foreign-flagged vessels bound for India, remain in the Persian Gulf (west of the Strait of Hormuz) and have been identified for evacuation.

A total of 4091 seafarers have been evacuated by various shipping companies as of Saturday, said the report.
