The 132nd annual Lord Jagannath Rathyatra will be taken out in the city on June 24 by Jagannath temple in Ahmedabad.

"Jagannath temple will take out the 132nd Rathyatra in the city with 18 decorated elephants, 98 decorated trucks and
three big decorated rath of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balram and their sister Subhadra," said temple head Mahant Rameshwardasji.

The 'rath yatra' will pass throug its traditional route in the areas including Raipur, Khadia, Saraspur, Kalupur, Prem Darwaja, Delhi Chakla, Shahpur, Ghee kanta and Manekchok, he added. Around 1000 devotees will pull the chariots through out the day.

According to him, around five lakh people will have darshan of Lord Jagannath during day long rath yatra while more than 2000 saints from across the country take part in the yatra procession.

During the yatra procession, the temple volunteers will distribute 'prasad' and herbal drinks to the thousands of
people who would throng on the route of the yatra, said Mahant Rameshwardasji.
