A 15 year-old girl set herself ablaze at her residence at Cherallayam near Kunnamkulam in the district on Monday.
Police said the girl, Cinchu, who passed her SSLC examination this year, allegedly committed suicide by dousing her body with kerosene and setting herself ablaze.
There was nobody at her residence at the time of the incident. Neigbhours noticed the fire but could not do anything, the sources said.
