A 19-year-old died on Wednesday night after he had carelessly slashed himself in the stomach while peeling coconuts on April 22.

The doctors said that the victim had damaged his intestines and could not be saved even after an operation. The police sent the body for post-mortem, after which it was handed over to his family members.
According to the police, Don Singh, a native of Badshahpur, suffered a deep cut in the stomach while cutting coconuts with a sharp knife. The deceased had kept the coconut very close to his stomach and the sharp knife slipped of the coconut and cut through his intestines. Don was immediately admitted to a private hospital. After 10 days of being closely monitored by doctors and a surgery, the deceased breathed his last on Wednesday. An infection had spread in his stomach leading to heavy internal bleeding, the doctors said.
