2 arrested with 32 SIM cards in J-K

Two persons were arrested and 32 SIM cards recovered from them in Jammu on Sunday, police said.

Two persons were arrested and 32 SIM cards recovered from them in Jammu on Sunday, police said.

A house was raided in Nanak Nagar after police received complaints that some persons were selling SIM cards in black-market without seeking valid documents in Jammu, Rajouri and Poonch districts, police said.

Police seized 32 SIM cards of a private mobile company and several invalid applications on which the SIM cards were issued.

Two persons Gurdeep Singh of Jammu and Ashfaq Ahmed of Poonch were arrested and a case has been registered against them, they said.

Dozens of SIM cards have been recovered from slain and arrested militants during past one year in J-K, police said.
