The two injured were admitted to the UHM Hospital, where the condition of one was stated to be critical and doctors were operating on him till the filing of the report.

Meanwhile, following the news that one of the injured, identified by police as Shailendra Singh Rathore, nephew of a Samajwadi Party MLA, scores of party supporters created ruckus at the UHM Hospital and called the chief medical officer and hospital superintendent.

They alleged the emergency medical officer was not present in the hospital, whereas he was putting stitches on another patient in the emergency ward of the hospital.

According to information, one of the injured Ajay Bahadur Singh (son of Samar Bahadur Singh), who owns a scooter spare parts and repairing shop named Ajai Auto Mobiles, near Bajrang crossing in Yashodanagar, had to recover Rs 1900 from one Vinod Singh Yadav. Yadav had been allegedly dilly-dallying in paying back the amount after getting his mobike repaired at Ajai Auto Mobiles a couple of months back. Yadav’s father Shiv Raj Singh is a police inspector and posted in Noida at present.

Lying in the NB1 ward of the emergency of the UHM Hospital describing the incident, Ajay said along with his friend Abdul Rashid, he went to the house of Vinod Singh Yadav in the morning to recover Rs 1900.

The two had an altercation and they went to Naubasta police station. “I called Shailendra, my brother, Veer Bahadur Singh, who is an advocate, and my father Samar Bahadur Singh. We all went to the police station and filed a complaint,” said Ajay.

He also said that when they were coming back to their shop while passing by the house of Vinod, that is situated near a salt factory at Yashoda Nagar, he opened indiscriminate fire from the terrace of the house with two double-barrel guns and two country-made pistols.

At the hospital, former Samajwadi Party MLC and husband of Aruna Tomar, Lal Singh Tomar, said, “My nephew, Shailendra, is an office superintendent at Roop Rani Suknandan Prasad Degree College and he got injured in the firing.”
The SP leader also accused Vinod Yadav of being involved in a murder case and was notorious in the area for his nefarious acts. Sources said Yadav, who is reportedly an ex-village head, runs a cable connection network in the Naubasta area.

Meanwhile, police said they had registered a case under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code and raided the house of the accused twice following the incident.
