2 killed, 1 injured as chimney collapses

Two labourers were killed and another was injured when an abandoned chimney at a brick-kiln collapsed at Jantikalan village, about 25 km from here, police said.

Two labourers were killed and another was injured when an abandoned chimney at a brick-kiln collapsed at Jantikalan village, about 25 km from here, police said.

The incident occurred yesterday when the three labourers were unloading concrete from a nearby truck, they said.

The victims have been identified as Thakur Bharti and Ranjit Yadav, both residents of Bihar. The injured labourer, Anoop Singh of Rathdhanna village, was rushed to a hospital, they said.

The truck driver fled from the spot, leaving behind the victims, the police said.

The bodies of the victims have been sent for postmortem examination and the police have registered a case.
