TWO NATIONAL Defence Academy (NDA) aspirants, who were travelling to Bhopal to write an exam, and a taxi driver died in an accident near Ashta today.

According to sources, 18-year-old Hardik Kothari of Mhow, Nishant Agarwal and Gaurav Agarwal (19) of Indore, and driver-cum-owner of the vehicle Rajendra Verma (25) of Mhow were going towards Bhopal in an Indica car (number MP 09 AC 6603). The candidates were to write their exam at Hamidia Arts and Commerce College, Bhopal.

The party started out early in the morning and Verma is said to have dozed off near Chacharsi bend at about 5.30 am. An Eicher vehicle coming from the opposite direction collided with the rudderless car going on high speed.

The collision occurred at high speed and the impact was heard far and wide. Kothari and Rajendra died on the spot, while Nishant died on the way to hospital. Gaurav was thrown out of the car and survived with injuries.

Kothari, the only son of a steel tycoon and builder Dileep Kothari, was taking PET coaching at Rankers Point Indore where he befriended the other two. Kothari had engaged the ill-fated Indica from Agrawal who was an acquaintance and ran a taxi service in Mhow.
