The accident occurred in Krishna district, 270 kilometres southeast of the state capital, when the driver of the lorry, which was carrying mangoes and 40 labourers, lost control of the vehicle, police said.
"The driver of the speeding lorry failed to notice the oncoming traffic and the vehicle turned turtle when he tried to avoid a head-on collision," said N Chandramowli, a senior police official.
The injured, including the driver, were admitted to a nearby hospital, three in a critical condition, he said.
