No one was injured in the mishap that occurred last evening between Haridwar and Dehra Dun railway stations as the passengers had already disembarked from the DLS train coming from Saharanpur after a problem was detected in the engine, official sources said on Monday.

A new engine was brought from Haridwar but before it could be properly attached, the train started moving and three of its bogies derailed.

Nearly a dozen trains were either delayed or cancelled after the track was damaged, he said, adding repair work was on.

The affected trains include Howrah Express, Janshatabdi Express, A C Special, Kathgodam Express and Mussoorie Express.
