Three small girls were killed and six others sustained severe injuries as a portion of a mosque collapsed today evening, police said.

The incident took place when the girls were taking religious lessons at the mosque in Bhisti Vad area. A portion of the ceiling suddenly fell on them, police said, adding that three girls died on the spot, while other girls were injured.

The deceased were identified as Tannaz Sandhi (6), Sujan Banu (6) and Kaushar Juned (6).
