Those whose suspension has been forwarded to the State Government include executive engineer Manoj Mishra, assistant engineer, Anoop Sharma and junior engineer Anil Dubey. While Mishra was the nodal officer, Dubey prepared the list under the supervision of Sharma, who was in-charge of Zone –III of LDA’s Enforcement Wing.
As a result of negligence on the part of these officials, the names of certain people were wrongly included in the list without verifying the facts. Since the list was made public by the LDA, it amounted to bringing disrepute to these persons, most of who are residents of Laxmanpuri and Marutipuram on Faizabad Road. Significantly, the names of these very people, according to sources, were excluded from the list after it was found that they possessed all the necessary clearances and property documents.
What then prompted these LDA officials to include their names in the list of unauthorised constructions is intriguing. Not surprisingly, therefore, while a particular group of officials feel that it was just a slip-up, another section sees a deliberate game plan in it and an attempt to rake up a controversy by vested interests to settle scores.
LDA officials when contacted refused to comment on the issue. “A corrigendum on the matter has been issued to set the record straight,” was all that a senior official was willing to say.
