They have sought that the administration must ask the contractor to carry out the work again. However, the authorities term it as a minor issue and say it is the best ready-mix concrete (RMC) road in the city.

The residents had been urging the administration to carry out road carpeting work from Laxman Vihar to Sector 4 for past three years. Work on the Rs. 3-crore project had started three months ago.

“When carpeting started, we hoped that things would improve. But the road has not even seen one monsoon and is in bad shape. It is difficult to say what will happen after the monsoon," said Amit Arora, general secretary of Sector 4 RWA.

"We pay our hard-earned money as tax. The contractor should be asked to carry out the work again," said a resident.

However, DR Gupta, executive engineer of the Haryana Urban Development Authority, said, "Minor cracks have developed on the road. We have already sent the samples of the RMC for test. But it is the best RMC road in the city. We are confident that it will survive the odd weather conditions."
