A TOTAL of 369 candidates reported on the second day on Tuesday at the Institute of Engineering Rural Technology (IERT) for on-campus on-line counselling of Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU) being conducted simultaneously at nine centres across the State.

The counselling which started late on the first day on Monday, continued uninterrupted on Tuesday.
A total of 369 candidates, reportedly about 99 percent of the total candidates called for the counselling at IERT, arrived at the Institute on Tuesday. The number of students on the first day was 44 per cent when 192 candidates reported at the centre.
Asistant counselling in-charge Neeraj Shukla said, “The counselling was delayed on the first day due to failure of two channels at MTNL router in Delhi and some virus was detected in the router on the second day also.
The bandwidth got congested due to virus on Tuesday and thus the processing speed also slowed down.”
However, the process remained uninterrupted and the counselling continued till late in the evening.
Almost all general and OBC seats in the government colleges are now full and the seats for these categories are nearly full in even reputed private colleges across the State.
