37 doctors violate norms, skip transfer
IN A clear case of violation of High Court orders, as many as 37 Provincial Medical Service doctors posted under the chief medical officer, Allahabad, managed to skip transfers, despite being posted in the same district for over 10 years. Surprisingly, at least five PMS doctors among them are posted in the same district for the last 20 years. In a confidential list prepared at the CMO office, 37 medical officers and deputy chief medical officers have been identified who are in Allahabad district for the last over ten years.
IN A clear case of violation of High Court orders, as many as 37 Provincial Medical Service (PMS) doctors posted under the chief medical officer, Allahabad, managed to skip transfers, despite being posted in the same district for over 10 years.
Surprisingly, at least five PMS doctors among them are posted in the same district for the last 20 years.
In a confidential list prepared at the CMO office, 37 medical officers and deputy chief medical officers have been identified who are in Allahabad district for the last over ten years. These also include the medical officers, who managed to remain posted in the same district for the past 15 to 25 years. The list has been prepared on the basis of cumulative period of posting as directed by the High Court. The court had directed the Health Department to transfer all those medical officers, who had completed a total ten years by remaining on different posts and different places in the same district.
Some of the prominent names, which figure on the list, include Dr SK Mishra (posted in the district for over 10 years), deputy CMO Dr Satyendra Kumar (above 10 years, posted at CMO office), Dr KK Chaurasia (above 10 years, posted at CHC Phulpur), Dr RK Khare (above 10 years, posted at CHC Phulpur), Dr Anil Kumar Singh (above 12 years, posted at Jasra), Dr Zulfikar Ali (above 10 years, posted at Jasra), Dr RK Dwivedi (above 10 years, posted at Kaundhiyara), Dr KK Tripathi (above 10 years, posted at Koraon), Dr RD Bimal (above 10 years, posted at Manda) and Dr Abdul Wahid (above 10 years, posted at Manda).
The names of the medical officers, who are in the same district for the last 15 to 25 years, include Dr Ashok Kumar Gupta (above 20 years, posted at Chaka), Dr AK Srivastava (above 20 years, posted at Meja), Dr Rajendra Prasad Gupta (above 15 years, posted at Mailhan), Dr Mazahar Ali (above 20 years, posted at police hospital) and Dr Rama Singh (above 25 years, posted at D Type Health Post Govindpur). The list also contained the name of Maj Dr BP Singh but he reportedly got relieved on March 6.
The list was prepared on the High Court's directives and has already been sent to the State Health Directorate and the copy of it has also been handed over to the principal secretary (Health) UP Government, said Health Department sources.
The sources said many of these doctors managed to skip the transfer orders under a privilege and patronage of ruling party leaders and senior Health Department officers. CMO, Dr SM Singvi said the list has been prepared of doctors who are in the district for last 10 years.
