4.5 kg charas seized

POLICE SEIZED around 4.5 kg of charas from a suspended SAF constable last night, which is worth around Rs 1 lakh in the international market.

Additional SP Dharmendra Chaudhary had received information that a man coming from Bhopal to Indore was carrying a consignment of narcotics. Two teams were formed to nab the accused - one was led by CSP Santosh Singh Gaur while the other was led by Sadar Bazaar TI R S Amb. The first team was stationed at Imli Bazaar, while the second was stationed at Rambag.

The team waiting at Imli Bazaar got lucky and the man matching the description given to them by the informer passed by and they nabbed him. On searching, they found around 4.5 kg charas on him.

The accused has been identified as Abdul Hamid son of Razzak Khan resident of Govindpura, Bhopal. He used to bring the charas from Bhopal and sell it in Indore. Police said he had earlier been caught in Jaora on a similar charge. He has been booked under Section 820 of NDPS Act.

Loot at broker’s house: ARMED MEN broke into the house of a property broker in Gandhi Nagar and looted cash and goods worth around Rs 1 lakh.

According to police, four armed men entered the house owned by property broker Ashok Gandhi at midnight yesterday. Gandhi and his wife woke up on hearing the noise, but the armed miscreants threatened them and took away Rs 25,000 kept in the cupboard and a pant pocket, a four tola gold chain, gold ring and wristwatch.
