IRREGUALRITIES IN registration of students in class 9th and 11th have been detected in as many as 44 intermediate colleges in Allahabad and Kaushambi districts.
These colleges had applied for more than 1000 forms for advance registration while on checking there were found only 100 bonafide students. Thus, taking a serious note, the UP Board is contemplating to take action against such colleges.
The Board has also resolved to provide the examination forms for 2007 according to actual number of students found by the Board during the verification of registration forms for class 9th and 11th this year. The Board had provided only 500 registration forms against the colleges' demand of 1000. Despite this strict measure, the 'nakal mafia' succeeded in filling more registration forms this year.
This fact came to light when the committees set up by the District Inspector of Schools went to the college concerned to enquire about the facts. At the 30 colleges in Kaushambi district, the number of students as shown by these colleges was less than the registration forms filled up by them. At one of such college at Ajhuha in Kaushambi, 93 students were actually found against 1016 registration forms.
Similar findings were reported by the committees from seven colleges in Sirathu and seven in Chail tehsils.
Meanwhile the committee has detected 11 such colleges in Allahabad. It may be mentioned that several colleges were found committing this irregularity last year but proper action was not taken against these erring colleges. The committee's report has been submitted to DIOS Mahendra Singh Yadav who told HT Allahabad Live that 43 colleges had been identified where the irregularities have been found with regard to registration forms.
Taken it as a serious matter the Board authorities have decided to check the registration forms for 2006 examinations, said the sources.
