The polling has remained peaceful, Joint Chief Electoral Officer C P Dhakal said.
The Chief Minister and ruling Sikkim Democratic Front president, PK Chamling, another former Chief Minister and Sikkim Pradesh Congress Committee president Nar Bahadur Bhandari and Assembly speaker D N Takarpa were prominent among 167 candidates contesting the Assembly polls.
SDF's P D Rai and Congress' K N Upreti are among seven candidates in fray for the lone Lok Sabha constituency.
