5 criminals externed

NOTORIOUS CRIMINAL Santosh Dube and four others have been externed on orders issued by District Magistrate Vivek Aggarwal today. They have been externed from revenue limits of Indore, Dewas, Ujjain, Dhar and Khargone districts for a period of one year.

A number of criminal cases are registered against them at different police stations in the City. Apart from Usha Nagar resident Santosh Dube, those externed include Laxmipuri Colony resident Ramraj son of Satyanarayan, Subhash Marg and Imli Bazaar resident Yogesh son of Motilal Bhoi, Dhanshree Nagar resident Sunny son of Ambadas Ingle and Chandan Nagar resident Manoj son of Bherulal Rathore.

A listed criminal, about nine cases are registered against Dube at Annapurna police station, while Ramraj is booked in as many as 31 cases at Malharganj police station.

Yogesh and Sunny are involved in 15 cases each, registered at Sadar Bazaar and Annapurna police stations, respectively. Manoj has been listed in 13 cases at Chandan Nagar police station.

All these are history-sheeters who had unleashed terror in different localities to the extent that people avoided giving evidence against them at court trials. Their externment has provided relief to people at large and served a deterrent purpose, a press statement issued by district administration said.

The administration issued the order to prevent criminal activities like murder, attempt to murder, theft, dacoity, satta, gambling, keeping unlicenced weapons and drugs, using explosives and abusive language, the release added.
