'93 blasts case: Court convicts 5 more

A TADA court on Friday held five aides of prime conspirator Tiger Memon guilty of participating in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts conspiracy by going to Pakistan via Dubai for arms training.
The five convicted by designated judge PD Kode are Gul Mohammed Noor Mohammed Shaikh, Shaikh Ibrahim Shaikh, Mohammed Hanif Mohammed Usman Shaikh, Shaikh Usman Man Khan and Mohammed Sayed Mohammed Ishaq.
They were held guilty under section 120 b IPC (conspiracy) and Section 3 (3) of TADA (P) (aiding and abetting terrorists acts).
All five had gone to Pakistan via Dubai to obtain training in handling arms and explosives and preparing car bombs at the instance of Tiger Memon.
After the verdict they were taken into custody and their bail bonds were cancelled.
Earlier, 20 people, including four members of Memon family, were found guilty in the case.
According to the CBI, absconding accused Dawood Ibrahim and Tiger Memon had masterminded the serial blasts at the instance of ISI and had sent these accused to Pakistan via Dubai for weapon training.
The arms and explosives were used in blasts on March 12, 1993, killing 257 people and injuring 713.
