Achieve tax target or face action: Sood

MAYOR SUNIL Sood on Wednesday warned that strict action would be taken against officials if they failed to achieve property tax and water tax realisation targets.

Reviewing the revenue realisation work at the zonal offices of Zone-1, 3 and 12, the Mayor expressed displeasure over the slow revenue collection work. He directed officials to open new property and water tax accounts in these zones and told them to complete work by February 28.

The Mayor also told the Building Permission Department to provide the list of permissions issued for construction of new buildings to the Revenue Department. Sood also pulled up officials for poor sanitation work in zone 12. He directed officials to terminate services of sanitary workers who remained absent from duty.

He  directed officials to hold realisation camps for development fee from residents of illegal colonies. Sood directed officials to demolish 12 illegal shops in zone-one. Additional Commissioners Arvind Dubey and Abhay Arvind Bedekar were present during the meeting.

At the Santnagar zone office in Bairagarh, Sood directed officials to achieve recovery targets fixed for current financial year. 

At the meeting, Mayor apprised self of the property tax, water cess and other taxes recovered as of date and expressed concern over the figures which were not satisfactory. Zone president, Rajesh Hingorani, Parasram Meena and Ishwari Nathani were present in the meeting.
