THE HOTEL owners using public place as the ‘private parking space’ of their hotels in MP Nagar may spell trouble for them. The Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) administration will soon launch a drive to curb such activities and misuse of corridors.
Most of the hotel owners in MP Nagar used all space for construction of their hotels without leaving any space for the parking. Now, the roads and open spaces in front of the hotels are being used as the parking lots of these hotels.
There were complaints that hotel guards don’t allow the people to park their vehicles. They allow only hotel customers to park their vehicles on the open space.
Moreover, many hotel and other commercial establishments’ owners in this area allegedly constructed corridors according to their convenience, without following any uniformity, resulting in inconvenience to visitors. Some hotel owners also blocked the corridors meant for movement of visitors.
Considering all these facts, the BMC administration has been planning to take action in this regard. Principal Secretary, Urban Administration Department, Satya Prakash and the BMC officials on Tuesday inspected this area. It is learnt that Satya Prakash has also issued directives in this regard.
