ADA officials appear to have devised two new strategies to earn money. One: during passing of map of a big complex they have started showing parking behind the building where either an old building already exists or the place is inhabited by sagarpesha people. They then go on to make noting in the map that the builder is supposed to break the structure to create parking space.

One: during passing of map of a big complex they have started showing parking behind the building where either an old building already exists or the place is inhabited by sagarpesha people. They then go on to make noting in the map that the builder is supposed to break the structure to create parking space. But this hardly happens. Much hyped 'Salasar' on SP Marg , a big complex near Hotel Milan and several group housing schemes in Civil Lines are few examples.
Two: ADA appoints its own officials to carry out investigation on a complaint thereby justifying the saying, setting a thief against a thief. The latest example is the Chawla complex on TB Sapru Marg. On a complaint, an ADA team was sent to the spot to find out the facts and the illegalities. In his report he gave a clean chit to the building which, according to him, was built in accordance with the sanctioned map.
Interestingly, when the new enforcement squad AE SK Arora, who has become an eye sore for ADA officials because of his clean image, visited the spot he wrote to the higher authorities to order sealing of the building as the same had been made violating several norms. On his part Arora is reported to have invited the wrath of the ADA engineer who reminded him that he could be removed from his current job if he dared to interfere in latter's work.
This is not the end. Mayank Yadav the zonal officer is alleged to have taken away the file pertaining to this complex.
Another file pertaining to Vinayak Complex in Ashok Nagar is also missing. This six-storeyed building was supposed to have 85-90 flats. But the builder is reported to have constructed 108 flats. The approach road is less than 10-metre wide when rules say that such a complex can come up only on an 18-metre wide road. The floor area ratio is also affected and the builder has gone to the extent of constructing a swimming pool in the park.
ADA VC Rajaram Upadhyaya expressed shock when these facts were brought to his notice. He said, he would look into them.
