Ahmedabad tie under ICC scanner
"A few people" knew in advance that 4th Indo-Pak ODI would be delayed.
The fourth one-dayer between India and Pakistan played at Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad earlier this month has caught the International Cricket Council Anti-Corruption Unit's eye.
The ACU is probing claims that a "few people" knew a day in advance that the April 12 match would not start on time.
The match, which Pakistan won by three wickets after successfully chasing a target of 315, had started an hour late and was reduced to 48 overs-a-side because of a damp pitch.
No official reason was given on the matter.
The stadium's pitch curator for 25 years Dhiraj Parsana, a former Test batsman himself, was surprised with the wet pitch. Interestingly, he wasn't present even at the ground on the day of the match due to illness.
"It took me by surprise. As a curator, I should know how it happened. But I am completely in dark. I suspect the blame would be laid in front of my door," Parsana was quoted as saying by Khaleej Times.
