The AIUs conducted a series of search operations at various airports across the country and have taken a large quantity of gold, diamond and large sum of cash in its possession in the last three months. The unit has detected tax evasion of Rs 33 crore.

“We’ve found a tax evasion of Rs 33 crore, but due to the sensitivity of the case, the names from whom we seized can’t be disclosed at this moment,” a senior official on condition of anonymity said.
