A 36-year-old American national has been arrested while allegedly trying to cross the India-Nepal border illegally in Uttar Pradesh's Maharajganj district. The accused, identified as Jordan Brown from California, was found carrying a Chinese passport, along with several electronic devices, religious books, Nepalese currency and an AI-powered translation device. His arrest triggered questioning by multiple Indian intelligence and security agencies. Officials, however, said no evidence of suspicious or anti-national activities has been found so far, while forensic examination of the seized items and the authenticity of the Chinese passport remain under investigation.
