Aircel launches 'Talking SMS' service

Aircel has introduced a value-added service 'Talking SMS', in Tamil Nadu.

Aircel, one of the leading cellular operators, on Friday introduced a value-added service 'Talking SMS', in Tamil Nadu.

The service is aimed at communicating with ease and on time. With 'Talking SMS' a subscriber could talk and send SMS, giving a 'personal touch and feel' to the communication, an Aircel release said.

The subscribers could also use their own language and above all save time by using the service, the release said.

To use the facility, subscribers would have to dial 545, followed by the recipient number and record the message.

With an option to edit, the message, based on confirmation would be sent to the receiver. The recipient has to dial a toll free number 535 to retrieve the talking SMS.

This unique service, which gives the freedom from typing and sending an SMS, would be available as a free trial offer till April 30, the release said.

Aircel, with presence in West Bengal, Orissa, Assam, North East, Jammu and Kashmir, besides Tamil Nadu, focused on expanding its services to 10 new circles by 2006-end, the release claimed.
