"We have intensified security at airports after yesterday's attack. We have asked them to be on extra alert," CISF Director General SIS Ahmed told reporters.

CISF has been entrusted with the security of 54 airports, including Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata, and also guards vital installations like nuclear plants, space facilities, sea ports and oil refineries.

"We have also intensified security in all our units," he added.

Security has been tightened across the country with additional police and paramilitary personnel deployed in the wake of the deadly attacks last evening.
