One of the most beautiful ladies in the world, Aishwarya Rai just can't take her make-up off. Despite Mani Ratnam's instructions, Aishwarya appeared on the set with basic make-up on.

Apparently, Mani Ratnam instructed Ash to carry a no make-up look in the second half of Raavan. It's that point in the movie when Abhishek abducts Aishwarya. The director believed that her deglam avatar was important to express the loss and pain the character is going through.

Despite Mani's directions, Ash appeared on the set with basic make-up on. But she couldn't escape eagle-eyed Mani.

This became a major issue as neither Ash nor Mani backed down from their positions.
