Harjit Singh in Moga was allegedly purchasing votes, police said.
Punjab police on Monday arrested a Akali leader from his native village of Bholuwala on the charges of buying votes.

On a tip off, that Akali leader Harjit Singh was allegedly purchasing votes, a police party reached the spot and caught him last night, police sources said.

Police also recovered Rs 50,000 from his possession. The Akali leader was later released on bail.
