Akshardham case: All six accused declared guilty

Thirty-three people, including two NSG commandos, were killed in the Sept 24, 2002 terror attack on Gujarat temple.

A special POTA court on Saturday found six accused guilty of the September 2002 attack on the Akshardham temple in Gandhinagar, in which 35 people, including three elite security guards, were killed.

The special court constitu4ted inside the Sabarmati Jail found the six - five from Ahmedabad and one from Bareilly - guilty of plotting an attack on the temple on Sept 24, 2002, legal sources said.

Two policemen were also killed in the attack and more than 80 injured when terrorists dressed in army uniforms opened indiscriminate fire on devotees in the temple premises.
