Alka Rai, wife of slain BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai, has slammed Congress candidate Ajay Rai for taking support from Mukhtar Ansari, accused in the sensational murder of Congress candidate's brother.

In a statement issued here on Tuesday night, Rai castigated Ajay Rai for joining ranks with his brother's killers.
"Mukhtar Ansari and his family are known criminals of eastern UP. Mukhtar Ansari is also involved in my husband's (Krishnanand Rai) murder and his seven close associates," Alka Rai said.
Ajay Rai's decision to seek support from Mukhtar Ansari is unbecoming of a person like him, she added.
The slain BJP MLA's wife also stated that the Congress candidate's decision has disgraced the entire Bhumihar community, to which Ajay Rai belongs.
Alka Rai has also announced to campaign for Narendra Modi in Varanasi.
Alka Rai is waging a alone battle to seek justice for her husband's killers. She was instrumental in getting the sensational killing of her husband probed by the CBI.
