AMA organises swimming contest for docs and kin

A SWIMMING competition was organised at Taran Taal by Allahabad Medical Association (AMA) on Saturday morning. AMA president Dr AK Bansal won the doctors? 50 meters and 100 metres free-style competition by clocking 46 seconds and 1.32 minutes, respectively.

AMA president Dr AK Bansal won the doctors’ 50 meters and 100 metres free-style competition by clocking 46 seconds and 1.32 minutes, respectively. Dr Anand Singh bagged first position in 50 metres in the below 50 years category of the doctors clocking 58 seconds, sports secretary Dr VM Sharma said. The prize distribution function would be held on Sunday morning at AMA, added Dr Sharma.

There were six categories in the competition. Above fifty years, below fifty years (for doctors), below 7th standard and above 7th standard for sons of doctors, below 7th standard and above 7th standard for daughters of doctors.

In the above 50 years category in 50-metre swim, Dr AK Bansal, Dr Rajeev Mehra and Dr UP Singh bagged first, second and third position, respectively. In the 100-metre category the above trio retained the same position. In the below 50 years category (50 metre), Dr Anand Singh, Dr Rakesh Chandra and Dr AK Tiwari stood first, second and third respectively, whereas in 100-metre, Dr Anand Singh, Dr Rakesh Chandra and Dr BB Agrawal stood first, second and third respectively.

In boys below 7th standard, Chitransh and Arindam Mishra stood first and second in 50 meters whereas the lone participant Chitransh completed the 100-metre swim in 1.40 minutes.

In boys above 7th standard, Rajat Sinha and Abhinav stood first and second in 50 metres and Abhinav and Rajat Sinha stood first and second in 100 metres.

In girls below 7th standard, Sudipi and Devja Arora stood first and second in 50 metres and Meha Agrawal and Vidushi Agrawal stood first and second in above 7th standard in 50 metres.
