This is with reference to ‘Give muscle to this paper tiger’ (July 24). It was heartening to see HT taking up an enormously important cause: The need to strengthen the CAG. Hats off! This is a fundamental issue in today’s India, and if the CAG were actually empowered, it could truly change the way our government and bureaucracy work. I fear falling short of the right adjectives and phrases to be said in your praise, so I stop here. I assure you of the support of myself and a few like-minded friends, should HT propose to launch a public campaign for the furtherance of this cause. Please keep up the good work. Last but not the least, it was shocking to learn from your article that no public sector bank, including the RBI, has ever been audited in independent India. We hope for a better and stronger India.
